CIM utilizes various linear elements such as Layout, Sub Layout, Guide Path, and more to easily model complex shapes for civil infrastructure.

Layout
The linear elements encompass a wide range of shape information as follows, and the combination of these details serves as the foundation for modeling all civil infrastructure structures such as bridges and tunnels.
- - Plan Linear: Straight, Arc, Clothoid, Cubic Parabola
  - End Linear: Straight, Arc, Parabola
  - Super Elevation
  - Skew
Sub Layout
Through Sub Layout, linear structures such as straight girders can be placed on curved structures, and individual Skew information can be input for each girder. This allows for the implementation of models that follow the linear elements and can be controlled in relation to the reference linear element.
Guide Path
MIDAS CIM provides the Guide Path feature to create models like widened sections. With Guide Path, modeling widened sections is made easier without the need to create multiple cross-sections of varying sizes.
