Key Features

Rebar is drawn based on the shape of the concrete element and is determined by specifications such as cover, development length, extension, and splice. Additionally, it is automatically arranged along the shape, so it adapts to changes in shape, including linear information, without the need for additional retouching.

MIDAS CIM offers 8 different rebar specifications from 4 countries, including Korea, making it suitable for practical use. Users can also add their own specifications according to the standards, and more specifications are expected to be added in the future. Countries and Specifications Supported:

Rebar Modeling Concept
In MIDAS CIM, rebar is drawn in a traditional 2D-based manner and placed along the 3D model. The rebar drawn this way adapts to dimensional or linear information changes. In other words, it easily accommodates design alterations when required.
Main Rebar Modeling
Main rebars are primarily modeled using the Transverse Rebar function. Transverse Rebar is essentially drawn based on edges and allows detailed modeling considering the cover thickness from the edge. Additionally, the direction of hooks at the ends of the rebar can be freely set. The supported drawing methods are as follows:

Distributing Bar Modeling
Distributing Bar is primarily modeled using the Longitudinal Rebar function. Longitudinal Rebar is essentially drawn as points on the transverse rebar on the cross-section, and therefore adjusts according to changes in the Transverse Rebar. Detailed modeling such as rebar cover, hooks, and other specifics can be applied similarly to Transverse Rebar.

Shear Reinforcement Rebar Modeling
MIDAS CIM can model both main reinforcement and distribution reinforcement, including two types of shear reinforcement rebar. Main reinforcement is modeled using the Shear Reinforcement function, while distribution reinforcement is modeled using the Stirrup function. It allows for modeling the hooks at both ends of the shear reinforcement and easily creates fully bent shear reinforcement.
